Information and Resources - COVID-19

UCM continues to monitor the evolving coronavirus situation. We remain in regular contact with state and county officials and CDC communications are reviewed daily. UCM has long had policies in place to deal with emergent situations such as this. A COVID-19 planning task force consisting of staff across multiple departments has been for some time assessing the risks based on information from the CDC, the State Department and from local, state and national experts. This group will continue to monitor the situation and meet regularly to ensure campus preparedness and responsiveness.

"Known Active Cases" reflects the report as of 12/3/2021 at  9:58 a.m. CST

*"Year To Date" numbers reflect all active and no longer active cases reported to the university since March 16, 2020

UCM Covid-19 statistics include self-reported cases that may have also been recorded in Johnson County, Jackson County and other locations.

Note: As of February 12, 2021, the process for calculating "Total Number of Cases No Longer Active," and "Year-to-Date Cases," has changed. A review of the faculty and staff data revealed that the total number of positive cases included those who provided medical documentation as well as those who simply self-isolated for possible Covid-19 exposure. The number has been corrected to reflect confirmed positive cases.

COVID-19 numbers related to the University of Central Missouri are coordinated by the University Student Health Center and UCM Human Resources in cooperation with Local Public Health Agencies. Many UCM students and some employees are residents of other counties, so numbers on this website could differ slightly from Johnson County (MO) data. New data will be shared every Friday by 2 p.m. and will reflect updated weekly numbers as of 5:00 p.m. Thursday.

Vaccination Opportunities

As of April 9, all Missourians are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This includes all UCM students, regardless of where they may live or whether or not they are taking in-person or online courses.

What to do if you are experiencing symptoms or may have been exposed to COVID-19

The well-being of our UCM family is our utmost priority. Students may contact the University Health Center using the UCM Student COVID Communication Form if they believe they are symptomatic, have been notified of exposure through contact tracing, or otherwise have reason to believe they may be infected. This will help us coordinate support and communication with your faculty. If you are a faculty or staff member, please contact the Office of Human Resources.
